Two people from Michigan have made the US Marshals’ 15 Most Wanted List. Not exactly a list anyone wants to make.
Most folks from Michigan’s knowledge of what the United States Marshal Service (USMS) does is limited to what we saw Tommy Lee Jones do in “The Fugitive” and its kind of sequel, “U.S. Marshals.” Turns out that real-life Marshals don’t chase Harrison Ford around Chicago and dam tunnels for a living.

What U.S. Marshals actually do is provide security for federal courts, transport prisoners, seize assets, and protect witnesses on top of tracking down fugitives. Turns out it’s a little less Hollywood chase, and a lot more courthouse security, prisoner transport, and fugitive tracking.

So, if your name pops up on their 15 Most Wanted list, chances are your time is running out, and they’ll be knocking on your door sooner than later. Here’s a look at the two fugitives from Michigan who made the list:
Derrel Brown: Double Homicide in Grand Rapids
Derrel Brown is wanted in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for a double murder that happened in 2019, killing his girlfriend and niece. Authorities believe he fled Michigan, maybe with some help.
