Oakland County man learns sentence after 16 cars stolen, 7 others targeted

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – An Oakland County man was sentenced Tuesday in connection with two cases involving 16 car thefts and other related crimes, officials said.

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, David Elliot, 37, of Madison Heights, was sentenced to up to 20 years in prison on 34 counts across both cases, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.

In the late summer and early fall of 2023, Elliot and his codefendants were involved in the theft of 16 cars and the attempted theft of seven other cars. A firearm was also stolen, officials said…
