Case advances against man accused of striking bank employee with hatchet during robbery

A Dearborn Heights man accused of fracturing a bank employee’s skull with a hatchet during a robbery will face an Oakland County circuit judge for arraignment on three felony charges, after waiving his right to a preliminary exam in district court.

Blake Herring, 23, is charged with assault with intent to murder, bank robbery and armed robbery for the July 1 incident at PNC Bank on Northwestern Highway in Southfield.

According to police, Herring “presents as a female.” He’s held in the Oakland County Jail with bond set at $2,000,000…
