State of play: Some local lunch spots and bakeries have started slinging “Kmart subs” — a version of the loaded submarine sandwich that was sold at the discount retailer before widespread store closings.
- “The subs had bologna, ham, salami, American cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, white onion and mustard. Some say they also had pickles and banana peppers, which is up for debate. What isn’t debatable is that they were sold encased in plastic wrap,” per the Detroit News.
