2 Detroit teenagers will stand trial for murder in Skinner Playfield triple shooting

There’s enough evidence to proceed to trial in the case against two teenagers who authorities say gunned down a 4-year-old going up a playground slide and an 18-year-old in a drive-by shooting at a Detroit park in June — allegedly because one of the suspects was mad his ski mask was ripped off his face on a bus earlier that day, a 36th District Court judge ruled on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

It was Brandon Lee Ware, 18, who shot the fatal rounds, the prosecution alleges, and his friend William McKinley Wheeler, 19, aided and abetted the killings as the driver.

Both were charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of assault with intent to murder, two counts of discharge from a vehicle causing death, one count of discharge from a vehicle causing serious injury and five counts of felony firearm…
