It’s been a crazy couple of days on the Zilwaukee Bridge. Just yesterday, all lanes finally reopened after months of construction. Then, later in the day, things took a shocking turn when some guy from Detroit jumped off the bridge. Miraculously, that man somehow survived.
The bridge had just reopened the northbound lanes after the huge maintenance project when it all went down. At some point in the afternoon, a man tried to end his life by jumping from the bridge. Police say the man, who’s struggled with depression in the past, jumped from the southbound side.
Fisherman Witnesses Zilwaukee Bridge Jump
According to Breaking News 989, a fisherman out on the Saginaw River witnessed the entire incident and saw the man plunge into the water. Somehow, he was able to swim to shore and survive.
It’s really sad to think that this man was at a point in his life where he felt this was the only answer…
