Judge sets bond at $3 million for Canton Township man accused of stabbing mom, siblings

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Canton Township man accused of stabbing three family members was arraigned Thursday and given a $3 million cash bond.

Derek Attee Alesmaily, 23, appeared virtually in 35th District Court in the afternoon on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, and was arraigned on three counts of assault with intent to murder, three counts of assault with intent to do great bodily and three counts of felonious assault. He is also being charged as a second offense habitual offender.
