In the heart of Detroit, where many children face adversity, poverty, and violence, one neighborhood ministry stands out for its persistent love and caring action. Since 1989, Good News Gang has been dedicated to equipping the children of Detroit to become leaders of the next generation.
Led by Pastor Matt Cripps of Metro Life Church, Good News Gang travels into some of Detroit’s toughest neighborhoods in a fleet of buses. These buses are more than transportation — they are symbols of hope. Every Saturday morning, they bring children to a safe, structured environment filled with faith, fun, relationships, and encouragement.
Each gathering offers a blend of worship, Bible teaching, and caring mentorship, along with tutoring, games, and life lessons. Volunteers invest time and heart in the children, helping them discover their worth and potential in Christ.
