Traffic stop yields ‘pounds of narcotics’

A joint narcotics investigation recently resulted in the arrest of a Detroit man on drug charges.

According to an Oct. 28 press release, the investigation by the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office also involved assistance from the FBI, Homeland Security, Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Bean Station Police Department.

Deputies arrested Marcus Kirk, 30, of Detroit, during a traffic stop in Jefferson County. The investigation found approximately 430 OxyCodone pills and “pounds of suspected narcotics.” Additionally, $3,400 in cash was seized…
