A survey crew working in a wooded area outside Detroit made a gruesome discovery this week, uncovering what police say is a human skull. Investigators believe the find could be related to a case involving human remains discovered earlier this year.
Human Skull Discovered in Wayne
The discovery was made Thursday (Nov. 13) in a wooded area across from a Ford plant in Wayne, near Michigan Avenue and Newburgh Road.
Police told Detroit’s WJBK-TV that the skull has been sent to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office, but the remains have not yet been identified.
Investigators Struggle to Identify Human Remains
Wayne Deputy Chief Finley Carter III told CBS Detroit that the skull had no teeth and could be linked to skeletal remains found nearby earlier this year.
