Detroit Police have released body-worn camera and dash-cam footage from an officer-involved shooting that happened on October 21 around 9:45 p.m. near 7 Mile and Gratiot.
According to police, gang intelligence officers were on routine patrol when they saw a black Chevy Impala commit several traffic violations, including failing to yield, stopping past the limit line, and turning right on red into oncoming traffic. Officers followed the vehicle into the drive-thru of a business, where they conducted a traffic stop.
Bodycam footage shows officers speaking with the driver, who provided a state ID and allowed officers to search for weapons.
