Man involved in fatal stabbing at Kroger pleads guilty to misdemeanor

A Riverview man who fatally stabbed another man at the Southgate Kroger store pleaded guilty on Thursday, Dec. 11, to a misdemeanor charge of being a disorderly person.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Charles M. Hinton II, 33, acted in lawful self-defense when he stabbed Ramon Vazquez, 23, of Southgate.

Hinton was only charged with carrying a concealed weapon in connection with the Oct. 7 stabbing; Worthy alleged he possessed a knife illegally. He faced up to five years in prison…
