Missing Dog Reunites With Family After Four Years

A Detroit family just got the kind of holiday surprise that still makes people believe in second chances. Felicia Fritz adopted a puppy named Toby in 2018. Then in 2021, he wandered off and never came home.

Four years is a long time to keep hoping. Still, Toby was out there. He was picked up by the Humane Society and later adopted by an older man, who renamed him Ziggy. When the man became too ill to care for him, Ziggy was surrendered to Friends of Michigan Animals Rescue. According to Graig Graziosi, Ziggy spent more than a year in the shelter and it started to wear him down.

That detail matters. Shelters do lifesaving work, but long stays can be hard on a dog’s health and behavior. So the rescue posted his photos across social media, hoping someone would adopt him quickly…
