The Michigan State Police are investigating after a Lincoln Park officer shot and injured a 36-year-old man armed with a box cutter-style knife in Allen Park on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
Officers were called to the area of Southfield Road near Roger Avenue around 3:20 p.m. for a report that a subject, later identified as the man, was carrying the knife and posing a danger to himself, according to police. Officers from Lincoln Park also responded to the incident.
