Native Detroiter Nya Marshall, founder of Ivy Kitchen + Cocktails on Jefferson Avenue, says she saw how her trendy restaurant sparked new life in the community after opening in 2019 in the city’s East Village neighborhood.
“There was literally no development going on almost seven years ago,” she said. “Now it’s a thriving community.”
