A Michigan family won a settlement worth $3.25 million after a woman was declared dead by mistake and was nearly embalmed.

Timesha Beauchamp, 20, who had cerebral palsy, was declared dead in her Southfield, Michigan, home over the phone by an emergency room doctor in August 2020.

The doctor declared her dead based on real-time medical data that was given by EMS and other responding medical personnel, the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office said…
