Perry Columbus thought he’d won an important victory in his dispute with the Detroit Land Bank Authority last year. It was instead only a reprieve.
The Iraq War veteran nearly lost his house on the far eastside when the Land Bank tried to take it back for what it claimed was the slow pace of repairs. A judge at Michigan’s 3rd Circuit Court dismissed the lawsuit in March.
But last week, Columbus received a notice on his door saying the Land Bank had refiled its case. To keep the house, he’ll have to defend himself in court again…
