Rollover Crash on Detroit’s Lodge Freeway Spurs Investigation, Lincoln Driver Vanishes Post-Accident

A rollover crash on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit Saturday night led to one person being hospitalized and sparked an investigation by the Michigan State Police. According to CBS News Detroit, the incident occurred on the northbound side near Livernois Avenue at about 8:30 pm when a Lincoln MKX rear-ended a Ford Fusion at high speed, causing the Lincoln to roll over.

The Ford driver, upon seeing the approaching headlights too late, was unable to avoid the collision, resulting in the rollover. While the Fusion motorist was taken to the hospital as a precaution, a social media post recounted by the Michigan State Police’s Second District noted that the Lincoln’s driver, believed to have sustained neck injuries, was not found at the scene. “When troopers arrived upon MSP arrival on scene, the alleged injured female was no longer there and the rolled over vehicle was unoccupied,” explained the post found on the MSP Second District website.

Initial reports had indicated that the Lincoln’s driver, a female, asserted she could not move and thought her neck was broken. However, she was not present when state troopers got to the scene, raising questions about her condition. “At this time, we do not believe the driver of the Lincoln was actually hurt,” said F/Lt.
