Discover Michigan’s Best Fish Sandwich
For Michigan, the winner is Detroit 75 Kitchen, founded by brothers Mike and Ahmad Nassar in 2014.
What began as a food truck at their family’s Detroit truck stop has grown into a local favorite, with a Troy pop-up and now a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Madison Heights. More on the new eatery below, but first, the sandwich that’s getting all the hype.
The Must-Try Friday Fish
The crown jewel is the Fisher Fwy. fish sandwich, available on Fridays only. Choose from catfish, Gulf Maine haddock, or Lake Erie walleye, topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, sweet pickled onions, and house-made Old Bay tartar sauce on a soft roll. Prices range from $18 to $22.
Tasting Table notes that loyal fans call it the absolute best, while Chowhound says it is worth planning your Friday around!
More Seafood and Beyond
If you cannot make it on a Friday, Detroit 75 Kitchen still delivers. The Orleans shrimp po’boy and house fish and chips are available all week and fit right into Lent-friendly dining. There is also the Russell Street Veggie Sandwich stacked with smoked onions, trio peppers, mushrooms, provolone and Swiss, plus garlic cilantro fries, salsa, aioli, and jalapeño ketchup.

New Dine-In Location Opens in Madison Heights
Now there is a new place to enjoy it all! The first-ever Detroit 75 Kitchen brick-and-mortar restaurant opens Friday, Feb. 20 at 32275 Stephenson Highway in Madison Heights.
According to the Detroit Metro Times, the space features a retro-diner aesthetic with tabletops made from recycled Faygo bottle caps and a patio planned for spring.
