Angry customer throws headlight at store employee

SOUTHGATE — A man screamed at AutoZone employees and caused a scene during a merchandise return the afternoon of Feb. 3 before throwing headlights at a store employee and storming out in anger.

The customer, who was attempting to return headlights, had damaged the packaging, and the employee said the store would not be able to resell them. The employee later told the responding police officer that he had every intention of offering the man a refund, but the customer assumed the worse and pitched the merchandise at the employee, hitting a metal rack behind the counter.
