Massive Water Main Break Floods 14 Mile Road in Oakland County, Trapping Vehicles and Triggering Emergency Response

OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN — A massive water main break sent torrents of water rushing across a major roadway in Oakland County, flooding neighborhoods and leaving multiple vehicles stranded as emergency crews rushed to contain the situation.

Officials say the incident occurred along 14 Mile Road between Drake Road and Farmington Road, where a major underground transmission line suddenly ruptured, sending water spilling across the roadway and surrounding areas.

Drivers in the area were quickly warned to avoid the stretch of road as floodwaters spread across the pavement, trapping several vehicles that were unable to escape the rapidly rising water.
