DETROIT (WKRC) – A woman was accused of leaving her five children unattended in her car with an unsecured firearm while she delivered food, leading to her 11-year-old son fatally shooting his 6-year-old sister in the head.
According to a release from the Detroit Police Department, officers were called to a restaurant at 12:06 p.m. on March 2 regarding a report of a shooting. First responders discovered a 6-year-old child suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene. She was taken to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
“It is alleged that the defendant left her five children, ages two to 11-years-old, unattended in her vehicle while she was inside of the restaurant,” the release read. “It is further alleged that the defendant’s 11-year-old son found an unsecured handgun in the vehicle and fired it, striking the six-year-old victim in the head, fatally wounding her.”…
