In a heartwarming update from the Michigan Humane Society, the white two-year-old Siberian husky rescued from the freezing waters of the Detroit River, has been reunited with his owners. The family spotted their dog’s adoption post online. He had not been wearing a collar nor was he microchipped.
The rescue organization was able to verify Gordie’s humans, and on Tuesday the happy pooch went home.
It had been nearly two weeks ago, when the Detroit Fire Department arrived at a reported section of the Detroit River to help a dog in emergency need of rescue. The situation took patience, planning and teamwork since the dog had become trapped in a water run off area along the icy river.
