Man indicted for shooting outside Detroit restaurant after feds recognize him on video

DETROIT – A federal grand jury has indicted Albert Egnis, 28, on one count of felon in possession of ammunition, court records show, after a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) recognized Egnis on surveillance video.

The ATF agent assigned to the Detroit Field Division said on Jan. 31, 2026, there was a shooting outside a Pizza Cat restaurant in Detroit.

Police were called around 4:30 a.m. for reports of shots fired, and investigators later recovered 25 spent 9mm casings outside the business…
