A 68-year-old woman on Detroit’s east side was left badly wounded Sunday night after a brutal dog attack outside her home, according to her family. Relatives identified the victim as Rita Emery and say she lost a large amount of blood before being rushed to a hospital, where surgeons treated extensive injuries. Neighbors and a Good Samaritan who rolled up on a bicycle helped drag her to safety near Pulford and Meldrum streets.
