Comcast Xfinity turns off WXYZ following contract impasse

A contract dispute between E.W. Scripps — which owns WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) — and Comcast Xfinity has resulted in a disruption on cable TV services for thousands of viewers in Metro Detroit.

“This channel is unavailable,” a message on their colored screens read Tuesday night and into Wednesday.
