Michigan man sentenced to prison for assisting ISIS, possessing a ‘destructive device’

WESTLAND, Mich. (WILX) – A Michigan man is set to spend 20 years behind bars for supporting ISIS, the United States Department of Justice announced Thursday.

Aws Mohammed Naser, a 38-year-old man from Westland, was convicted in 2025 of providing material support to ISIS and being a felon in possession of a destructive device.
