Teen facing dozens of charges in Tanger Outlets parking lot break-ins that hit 22 cars: Police

MEBANE, N.C. — A Durham teenager has been charged in connection with a mass vehicle break-in at Tanger Outlets in Mebane that left 22 cars ransacked.

Lester Mayo Jr., 18, of Durham was charged June 1 with 22 counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, 24 counts of felony conspiracy, four counts of misdemeanor larceny, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and larceny of a firearm, the Mebane Police Department said. Mayo was born March 6, 2008.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office took Mayo into custody June 2. He is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Graham District Court on June 5…
