Granville County, Creedmoor to hold public hearings on new data center land use policies

The Granville County Board of Commissioners is holding a public hearing Aug. 3, seeking public comments on the Granville County Land Development Code Text Amendment Petition, which would define data center land use, create a conditional zoning district for data center land use and set up developmental standards for data centers in that conditional zoning district.

The city of Creedmoor is also holding a public hearing on their own data center ordinance Aug. 4, which would establish zoning districts and development standards for traditional, hyperscale and micro data centers.

“Changes may be made to the advertised proposal, which reflects debate, objections, and discussions at the hearing. Any interested citizen is invited to attend,” the hearing notice posted by Granville County stated…
