Cary trading card heist suspect accused of breaking into Raleigh vape store same day: Records

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The man accused of stealing more than $30,000 worth of Pokémon and other trading cards from a Cary business earlier this year was arrested Tuesday in connection with a break-in at a Raleigh vape store the same day, court records show.

According to court records, 20-year-old James Mitchell Fillingame of Cabarrus County was arrested by the Cary Police Department on May 5 following a burglary at Triangle Trading Cards early that morning. He and a 17-year-old are accused of breaking into the store in the 2800 block of Jones Franklin Road and stealing trading cards valued at $32,826.

Cary police charged Fillingame with the felony offenses of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering, as well as the misdemeanors of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, injury to personal property, resisting a public officer, and injury to personal property.
