Downtown Washington has lots of places to wine and dine and now it’s got another new perk, a coffee shop. It’s called Common Ritual, and it’s owned and operated by recent East Carolina University (ECU) graduate Haylee Eide.
“I absolutely love the town of Washington. It reminds me a lot of where I’m from back home, our little river town,” says Eide, who’s from Lancaster, Pennsylvania on the Conestoga River.
When she graduated from ECU in 2025 Eide was looking for something to do before attending graduate school and decided to sell coffee from a cart inside Nash Hot Chicken, a restaurant in downtown Greenville…
