Owner charged after months-long investigation into North Carolina kennel; couple searching for answers after dog dies

YOUNGSVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — More than 20 dogs were seized from an illegal kennel in Youngsville. The owner of the facility has been arrested.

CBS 17 has learned the kennel has been under investigation since August.

One Zebulon family, who said their dog died while at the kennel, is hoping for answers.

A big smile, with a blue bone in his mouth. Those are the images Jessica Jones and Brandon Look are cherishing, as they remember their two-year-old Rottweiler, Goober.

“He was just a sweetheart. He loved everybody who walked through our door,” said Jones.

The couple said they were out of town, on a delayed honeymoon on Christmas Day, when they were told he died.

They claimed Anne-Marie Green, the owner of Green Meadow Kennels, didn’t answer their calls or texts, and they found out what happened to Goober, through a friend.

“We talked to the vet who did the initial examination, and he said Goober was really soaking wet. We thought that was a bit odd,” said Look.

They had left their three dogs at the kennel in Youngsville before.
