Chapel Hill police taking steps to ensure mental health wellness of officers and community

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) – The Chapel Hill Police Department is making new investments in officers’ mental health and the mental health of people in the community. The department is using a two-year grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to hire a police wellness coordinator who will develop strategies that will help officers improve and maintain their mental health, along with their physical and financial health.
