Duke University Announces Key Leadership Changes, Impacting Campus and Public Safety Services

Duke University’s Executive Vice President, Daniel Ennis, has announced organizational changes. These changes will offer leadership roles to two administrative executives, John Clements and John Dailey. The changes are related to the roles previously managed by interim Vice President, Operations Russell Thompson. Thompson will resume his permanent role as Executive Director of Utilities and Engineering Services in Facilities Management by February end.

John Clements, formerly the Associate Vice President for Budgets and Central Business Services, is now the Associate Vice President, Campus and Business Services. His new role includes operational leadership for Parking and Transportation Services, along with his existing duties. Clements will continue to report to the Executive Vice President.

John Dailey, Duke’s Police Chief, has been promoted to Associate Vice President, Public Safety. His new role includes leading Emergency Management and Business Continuity, while maintaining his duties as Police Chief. Dailey will now report to the Executive Vice President.
