The low pressure advisory for water customers in the Harper Road area has been lifted. This advisory was issued after a water main repair on February 8, 2024. The Hillsborough utilities staff had to shut off water to fix a leak on Harper Road. After the repair, the water lines were flushed and the affected properties were put under an advisory until water testing was completed.

The water testing took about 24 hours and found no contaminants. Therefore, customers in the affected area no longer need to boil their water for drinking or cooking. The affected streets included Daye Street, Dixie Avenue, Faucette Mill Road from Torain Street to Odie Street, Harper Road, Homemont Avenue, Riddle Road, Torain Street from Fairview Park to Faucette Mill Road, and Wildaro Court.

The advisory was initially issued as a precaution. A drop in pressure could potentially lead to water contamination. However, testing confirmed no contamination. During advisories, customers are usually advised to boil water or use bottled water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene purposes.
