The Engage Hillsborough event, Creek Week, will start with a scavenger hunt on March 16, from 2-4 p.m. at Gold Park. Participants have a chance to win a free rain barrel in this hunt.

The event also offers various activities. Attendees can try out the Public Works Division’s mini excavator, learn about removing invasive plants from Tree Board volunteers, and even operate a special camera used for stormwater management.

Participants can also gain knowledge about managing water runoff on their own property. Stormwater and Environmental Services Manager Terry Hackett will be available to answer any related questions and provide more information about the town’s water management practices.

Creek Week 2024 will take place from March 16-23, with events throughout Orange County. More details will be available in early March.

For further information about the event or the town’s water management program and projects, Terry Hackett can be contacted via email or phone at 919-296-9621.
