Bus driver accused of intentionally breaking leg of 3-year-old Wake County student

Raleigh Police have filed criminal charges accusing a school bus driver of intentionally breaking a 3-year-old Wake County student’s leg.

Tiffian Kimberly Truesdale, 42, of Zebulon, was arrested Monday on one count of felony intentional child abuse causing serious physical injury. According to the arrest warrant, Truesdale fractured the left femur of a 3-year-old child on Sept. 24 while transporting the child from Durant Road Elementary School in Raleigh to a daycare facility.

Truesdale works for one of the companies the Wake County school system hires to transport students who can’t ride on a yellow school bus. This includes special-needs students and homeless students.

“The district is aware that a driver employed by a contract transportation vendor was arrested and charged with intentional child abuse with serious physical injury,” the school district said in a statement. “As soon as the district was made aware of information related to a possible injury of a student, the driver was immediately removed from all routes serving our schools.
