ESPN has announced its broadcast teams for the NCAA women’s basketball tournament , with unofficially retired WNBA star Chiney Ogwumike set for a studio role alongside host Elle Duncan and analyst Andraya Carter.
The network has held the broadcasting rights to March Madness since 1996, and due to the mass coverage required, 16 broadcast teams have been formed for the first two rounds of the tournament . While they’ll be stationed around college campuses, four additional broadcast teams will take over at the Sweet 16 stage through to the national championship game.
While most of the talent are returning commentators and analysts, Jenn Hildreth, Wes Durham, and Krista Blunk are new play-by-play announcers who will join ESPN’s lineup this year. Angela Taylor is also a new analyst, but in the later rounds of the tournament, fans can expect to see ESPN’s lead women’s college basketball team of Ryan Ruocco, Rebecca Lobo, and Holly Rowe…
