TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — Michael Underwood of Taylorsville couldn’t believe his luck when he won a $1.16 million jackpot on a $2 ticket for the NC Education Lottery’s Multiplier Mania game, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.
“I started shaking for about an hour,” Underwood recalled. “I was in disbelief.”
After claiming his prize at lottery headquarters on Thursday, Underwood received $836,957 after taxes. The win is now the second-largest since the launch of digital instant games.…
