JOHNSTON COUNTY – A Johnston County couple was killed in an apparent murder-suicide. The incident was reported at 10 Chaney Drive, Garner, off Cornwallis Road in the Cleveland community.
The Johnston County 911 Center received a 911 call around 6:44pm Saturday, however the phone line was silent and no one spoke. A dispatcher dialed the number back and a male answered saying he did not call 911. The dispatcher stated that during the call back they heard a female in the background saying, “Why do you want to kill me? I need help!”
Johnston County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the home. The first officer to arrive at the scene stated he heard what appeared to be a gunshot inside the residence…
