Carrboro Firefighters Quickly Quell Apartment Blaze, No Injuries, Two Displaced

Early Wednesday morning, as residents of the Berkshire 54 Apartments in Carrboro slumbered, a distress call broke the silence. The Carrboro Fire-Rescue Department was alerted to a structure fire at 101 NC 54 Bypass, with reports of heavy smoke and flames visible. According to a release from the Town of Carrboro’s official website, firefighters were on scene within approximately five minutes of the call.

The response team encountered a clear sign of distress with flames evident in one apartment and the connecting breezeway. Without hesitation, they launched an aggressive fire attack, managing to extinguish the blaze in a 20-minute bout against the inferno.
