ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Multiple lanes on Interstate 85 South/40 West were closed as the result of a crash on Monday morning, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation .
The crash occurred at Mile Marker 143 near Exit 143 for NC 62/Alamance Road.

There was around 2.5 miles of heavy traffic congestion as the left three lanes of the interstate were shut down for around an hour on Monday morning.
