Saturday’s loss to Houston was obviously deflating, but we’ve had worse. It certainly wasn’t as traumatic as the loss to UNLV in 1990, where the Running Rebels just destroyed Duke in the championship game. That was deflating.
Still, Saturday was bad enough. Nobody wants to lose in the Final Four, least of all like that.
Unfortunately, there has been a tendency to blame it on the late foul called on Cooper Flagg. Was it a bad call? We’ll leave it to the experts, but really, that’s an excuse…
