Durham, N.C.’s Longtime Tech Leader Has Resigned

There’s a new technology leader at the helm in Durham, N.C., after a departure last month.

Kerry Goode, who had served as chief information officer and director of the city’s Technology Solutions Department for 15 years, officially resigned from both roles on March 14, Beverly Thompson, director of the Durham Communications Department, said via email. Marcia Richardson is now serving as interim CIO and department director; the city is not currently conducting a search for a permanent CIO.

Richardson, who has served as Durham’s chief infrastructure and operations officer since January, is now responsible for all major technology projects currently underway, including implementing the city’s newly selected enterprise resource planning solution, from Oracle, to advance business operations across the organization…
