Durham, NC — Seniors, caregivers, and family members—don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn, connect, and enjoy at the first-ever Aging Gracefully Resource Fair in Durham!
Hosted by the Durham County Department of Social Services (DSS), the free event will take place on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Human Services Building, located at 414 E. Main Street in downtown Durham.
The event is organized by the agency’s Aging and Adult Services Division and is designed to help attendees find the information, resources, and personal connections they need—all in one place.
Over 30 local organizations will be on hand
The Aging Gracefully Resource Fair will feature over 30 trusted organizations providing helpful services and support for older adults and their caregivers. Participating vendors include:
- The NC Registry of Brain Health
- AARP
- The Durham Center for Senior Life
- Oak Street Medical
- Dementia Alliance of North Carolina
- And many more!
In addition to visiting vendor booths, attendees can enjoy informative seminars on topics such as:
- Preventing dementia and protecting brain health
- Adult guardianship options
- Protecting yourself from financial scams, fraud, and physical abuse
- Understanding long-term care and Medicaid
- Navigating Social Security benefits
- Staying fit and maintaining mobility as you age
“This event makes it easy for seniors and their loved ones to get the answers they need—without the frustration of endless phone calls or trying to figure things out online,” said Maggie Clapp, Director of Durham County DSS. “We’re bringing together public and private organizations from across the Triangle to support our community.”
