UNC fraternity shuts down after reports of alleged misconduct, officials say

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A fraternity at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has officially shut down following allegations of misconduct, according to a report from WNCN.

The Alpha Tau Omega chapter at UNC was permanently closed by the fraternity’s national Board of Directors after reports of alleged behavioral issues and misconduct.

University officials said they were informed of the national board’s decision earlier this year and subsequently notified chapter members of the closure. As a result, the UNC chapter of Alpha Tau Omega is no longer recognized as a student organization on campus…
