Chapel Hill man charged after hitting pedestrians in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A man is facing charges after allegedly hitting pedestrians in downtown Wilmington on Thursday night.

According to the Wilmington Police Department (WPD), 44-year-old Thomas Clay Robinson Jr. of Chapel Hill was traveling north on Nutt Street at around 11 p.m. on June 19 when he failed to maintain lane control.

WPD say Robinson drove onto the sidewalk and hit a pole, three pedestrians, and a tree before coming to a stop.
