Durham Community Shaken by Fatal Shooting of 24-Year-Old Amani King on E. Cornwallis Road

Tragedy struck in Durham yesterday afternoon as officers responded to a deadly incident on E. Cornwallis Road. According to CBS17, Durham Police Department was called to the 1400 block of E. Cornwallis Road around 2:25 p.m., finding 24-year-old Amani King suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatal shooting, which has rocked the normally serene confines of The Churchill Apartments, a gated community now punctured by the echoes of gunfire and sorrow, and as ABC11 reports, the incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. with King being found shot multiple times.
