OAK ISLAND, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman from Creedmoor died at the North Carolina coast Saturday after she suffered cardiac arrest amid several surf rescues at an island with an active rip current risk, officials said.
The deadly incident happened around 6 p.m. Saturday at Oak Island in Brunswick County, according to Oak Island Water Rescue and the Oak Island Police Department.
