Jamie Allen arrested in North Carolina after Lee County murder and carjacking

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A man wanted for murder in Lee County has been caught in North Carolina, officials say.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said 53-year-old Jamie Allen of Lee County has been arrested in the death of 60-year-old Carol Wilson Baker. Investigators said Allen shot Baker while she was driving along Mikado Road. Investigators said he then carjacked another vehicle and escaped. On Saturday, the vehicle he allegedly carjacked was found in Cumberland County, North Carolina.

The sheriff’s office said he was arrested in Wake County on Sunday, where he is currently being held on warrants from Friday’s homicide investigation. Authorities are now coordinating his extradition back to South Carolina…
